}

Summary

The Belgian Corporate Governance Code 2020 ("Code 2020") applies to companies incorporated under Belgian law whose shares are traded on a regulated market ('listed companies') as defined in the Companies and Associations Code. The 2020 Code is the third edition of the Belgian Corporate Governance Code and replaces the previous versions published in 2004 and 2009. The Code 2020 is mandatory for financial years beginning on or after January 1, 2020 ("mandatory application"). However, the company may choose to apply the 2020 Code already for the reporting years commencing on or after January 1, 2019 ('optional application'). In both cases, the 2020 Code replaces the 2009 Code.
