Summary

The purpose of this Regulation is to regulate the environmental protection and management of Hydrocarbon Activities, with the primary purpose of preventing, minimizing, rehabilitating, remedying and compensating the negative environmental impacts derived from such activities, in order to promote sustainable development, in accordance with the environmental regulatory order established in the Political Constitution, Law No. 28611, General Environmental Law; Law No. 28245, Framework Law of the National Environmental Management System; Law No. 27446, Law of the National Environmental Impact Assessment System modified by Legislative Decree No. 1078 and its Regulations approved by Supreme Decree No. 019-2009-MINAM; Single Ordered Text of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law, approved by Supreme Decree No. 042-2005-EM and other pertinent legal provisions; as well as its modifiers or substitutes.
