The Code on Corporate Governance is adopted on a voluntary basis and requires companies to disclose information that will meet the requirements of maximal access to the company’s information in order to create a favorable image of the company in attracting capital, maintaining trust, and contributing in growth of production and financial results (chapter 7 on Disclosure of Information). A chapter 9 on Environmental Protection also requires a corporate policy on this and applying due care. Disclosure on application of the Code principles should therefore include the principle of Environmental Protection. The Code was published by the Council of Issuers of Kazakhstan.
