Code on Corporate Governance, 2007

Kazakhstan Current 2007

The Kazakhstan Code on Corporate Governance was adopted on a voluntary basis. It requires companies to disclose information that will meet the requirements of maximal access to the company’s information in order to create a transparent image of the company in attracting capital, maintaining trust, and contributing to growth of production and financial results (chapter 7 on Disclosure of Information). A chapter 9 on Environmental Protection also requires a corporate policy on this and applying due care. Application of the principles of the Code should therefore include the Environmental Protection.
