Companies (CSR) General Order, 2009

Pakistan Current 2009

The Companies (Corporate Social Responsibility) General Order requires all public companies to provide descriptive (non-financial) as well as monetary (financial) disclosures on CSR activities undertaken during each financial year. Such disclosures are made in the directors’ report to shareholders, annexed to annual audited accounts. The General Order also suggests a list of issues or types of activity for inclusion in the disclosures, as recommended by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. It has decsribed the General Order as providing an impetus for all public companies “to undertake charitable and philanthropic activities to the benefit of their customers, suppliers, employees, shareholders, communities, and other stakeholders.”
