A charter promoted by the Central Pollution Control Board of India, this initiative aims to go beyond compliance with regulatory norms for prevention and control of pollution, through various measures including waste minimization, in-plant process control, and adoption of clean technologies in environmentally-intensive industries. CREP is mandatory for large businesses in the 17 highest polluting sectors in India.
