CSR Action Plan, 2015

Switzerland Current 2015

On 1 April 2015 the Swiss Federal Council adopted a position paper on corporate social responsibility. It determines four strategic directions and contains an action plan with specific measures. This Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) coordinates the implementation and further development of the action plan with concerned government departments and offices . The Swiss Action plan has four strategic pillars: the Swiss government will be involved in the conception of CSR standards at the international level; government will promote CSR activities with Swiss companies; it will reinforce CSR activities in developing countries or countries in transition; and the Swiss government will promote the transparency of CSR activities. With respect to the last pillar, SECO states that the Swiss Confederation actively supports the promotion, harmonisation and proportionality of sustainability reporting and related tools.
