Launched by the Danish Government, the Action Plan provides guidance on creating shared value for business and society through innovative partnerships between the private and public sectors and civil society. It lays out a plan to strengthen accountability though the implementation of international principles (notably the UN Guiding Principles on Buisness and Human Rights), transparency requirements and using the public sector to promote a framework for responsible growth. In addition to reporting requirements in place since 2009, new requirements entail disclosure on whether a company has policies to ensure respect for human rights and to reduce its climate impact. This is the second Action Plan for CSR, following the first launched in 2008 by the former government.
