Guidelines on Environmental Protection in Foreign Investment and Corruption

In February 2013, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Environmental Protection released their ‘’Guidelines on Environmental Protection in Foreign Investment and Corruption’ – calling on its companies to address environmental protection, community relations and other considerations in investments overseas. The guidelines are non-binding but provide a new means for communities affected by Chinese investments to hold Chinese companies to account
