Action Plan on Implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, 2015

Lithuania Current 2015

The Action Plan puts emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR), including human rights, anti-corruption measures and gender equality. There is no mention of sustainability reporting in the Plan. It promotes the EU CSR strategy. Government measures to encourage business enterprises to secure respect for human rights include the creation of a national responsible business award, business initiatives on anticorruption and the promotion of sustainable investment. New measures planned include the promotion of socially responsible business, innovation and investment. Important for the public dialogue is the fact that Lithuania has an established tradition of policy deliberation through a tripartite council, which consists of representatives of government, business associations and trade unions.
