Revised Code of Corporate Governance, 2012

Singapore Current 2012

The Code of Corporate Governance (the “Code”) came under the purview of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and SGX with effect from September 2007. MAS issued a revised Code of Corporate Governance in May 2012 to broaden the responsibility of company boards to include sustainability and ethical guidance, encouraging them to ensure management embeds them in company processes and management systems (Para 1.1f). The amended code also included in the preamble that the responsibility of the board of directors includes the consideration of environmental and social risks to the company.
