Summary

The Factories Act contains a number of reporting requirements for companies. Most of these relate to mechanical or dangerous equipment - hoists and lifts (Article 24); chains, ropes and lifting tackle (Article 25); cranes (Article 26); steam boilers (Article 31); steam receivers and containers (Article 32); and air receivers (Article 33) - and requires the authority of such equipment to submit a report after each safety test and examination to the Director of Factories. Additionally, Article 51 requires that the factory owner shall submit a report to the local inspector in the case of a workplace accident that leads to death or disablement of an employee for three or more days.
