Summary

This Code comprises principles and practices to improve the governance system especially at the Board level, which is a prerequisite for improving the performance of any company. The CG Code has been drafted with taking into account the best international practices for Corporate Governance, including but not limited to those developed by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN) and the International Institute of Finance (IIF), adapting those provisions to the applicable laws in the State of Qatar, including the Commercial Companies Law and Securities Market Regulations.
