Summary
Decree No. 154/002 establishes that for the manufacture, introduction into the national territory under any form, and marketing of asbestos or products which contain it, authorization must be given from the Ministry of Public Health. To obtain such authorization, the manufacturer, introducer or trader, shall submit technical reports setting out the characteristics of the products or elements to be introduced into the country, the types of asbestos, measures to be taken to control risks to health, how waste will be disposed of and the justification that it is not possible to replace asbestos with another type of materials.
