Beyond Compliance: Building a Governance Culture (Saucier Report)

}

Summary

In Canada, the 1994 report of the Dey Committee, and subsequent TSE disclosure requirements and governance guidelines, set down a strong foundation for effective corporate governance. This report builds on that foundation. The focus is on ways to improve governance without losing sight of our corporations’ need for competitiveness in the global economy. The report’s recommendations go beyond compliance and propose guidelines, principles and practices that will help directors build healthy corporate cultures in the boardroom, where it counts.
