The Colombian Strategy for Low Carbon Development (ECDBC) is a program of short, medium and long term for development planning, which seeks to decouple the growth of emissions greenhouse gas (GHG) from national economic growth. This will be done through the design and implementation of sectoral mitigation measures to maximize the carbon-efficiency of economic activity and, in turn, contribute to national social and economic development. The objectives of the ECDBC are to identify and evaluate actions to prevent the rapid growth of GHG emissions as sectors growing, developing action plans for mitigation in each productive sector, promoting implementation tools, including a monitoring and reporting system.
