Law 10208. Provincial Environmental Policy

Summary

This Law establishes the provincial environmental policy, in addition to the minimum budgets established in article 41 of the National Constitution and National Law No. 25,675. The objectives pursued are the following: a) ensure compliance with the guiding principles for the preservation, conservation, defence and improvement of the environment; b) promote the improvement of the quality of life of present and future generations; c) promote citizen participation individually and through non-governmental, academic and scientific organizations, actors and various sectors that affect the environment, for the coexistence of human activities with the environment, providing environmental information, strengthening the access routes to information and demanding its obligatory nature in the administrative processes of environmental management; d) promote the implementation of the environmental planning process of the territory in the Province; e) promote changes in social values ​​and behaviours that make sustainable development possible, fostering environmental education, both in the formal system and in the non-formal and informal education system; f) organize and integrate provincial environmental information, guaranteeing its free access and the obligation to inform both the public and private sectors; g) promote, within the scope of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the assignment of specialized competence for the preparatory criminal investigation of environmental crimes.
