Act Respecting Transparency Measures in the Mining, Oil, and Gas Industries

The purpose of this Act is to impose transparency measures with regard to monetary payments or payments in kind made by mining, oil and gas enterprises, with the aim to discourage and detect corruption, as well as foster the social acceptability of natural resource exploration and development project.

The reporting requirements under this law mandate companies in this sector that have payments to a single payee that are equal or greater than $100.000 in one fiscal year to be disclosed annually to the Autorité des Marchés Financiers.
