Mexico passed the General Law on Climate Change in 2012. The new Law, only the second climate change law in the world, removes the constraints of political parties and electoral cycles, declaring it to be a long-term priority of the Mexican State. It represents a major step forward for Mexico, and for those countries that choose to learn from it.
