The Cabinet approved, at its meeting on March 14 2014, the royal decree approving the registration of carbon footprint, compensation and projects absorbing carbon dioxide.The royal decree entered into force on 29 May 2014, with the launch of the registry. This was accompanied by the publication of supporting documents, calculation tools and registration forms required for its operation.This record, voluntary, created with the aim of promoting calculating and reducing the carbon footprint by the Spanish organizations, as well as promote projects that improve the sink capacity of Spain, constituting therefore a measure of combating climate change horizontal.
