Environmental Quality Act, 1974.

This act provides for prevention, abatement and control of pollution through licensing, and mandates the conducting of an Environmental Assessment Report for proposed private and public sector projects to determine and prevent, or prepare for, the environmental consequences of the project.

As confirmed by a 2012 amendment to the Act, the results of an environmental impact assessment or environmental audit shall be submitted as report to the government Director-General of Environmental Quality. It also provides for the protection of informers
