The National Policy on Environment was first adopted in Nigeria in 1991 and was last revised in 1999, before the adoption of this new document. Outgoing Minister of Environment Mrs. Amina Mohammed said the new document looked at “all the different inter-sectoral issues that we have whether it is with water, health, power or agriculture and bring them in to have a multi-sectoral response.
