Well-being of Future Generations Bill Wales

The Act focuses on the future development of Wales (“The Wales we want by 2050”) and the role of public bodies in particular. Among other things, the Bill will introduce a reporting requirement for the public sector.

It among others establishes a statutory Future Generations Commissioner as well as Public Services Boards (PSBs) for each local authority area in Wales. Each PSB must improve the economic, social, environmental and cultural well-being of its area by working to achieve specified well-being goals.
