The Fairmined Standard seeks to promote gender equality and this text reflects this institutional intention. For purposes of clarity and simplicity, this document uses general terms such as “miners”, “operators” and “youth” to refer to both men and women. This does not in any way seek to make women invisible or exclude women and responds to a purely operational need related to the translation of the STANDARD.
